One more for today
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to tell you one quick thing about tonight. Now, I have witnesses, both Kerry and Monica were there to vouch for me so it's not that I was just projecting what I wanted to see. When we walked into the room, I said "Hey mom! We're here!" Immediately, her left arm moved up, her right eye opened some, her left eye was fluttering and trying, and her lips were moving (Kerry swears it looks like she was mouthing "hi") and she looked like she tried to sit her head up a bit towards us! Of course, I started balling as I was already an emotional wreck from earlier in the day (I have random meltdowns periodically) and talking to her, and I swear her eyes were really trying to look at me. After that, she settled back down and went back to sleep, which is just fine with me. That will sustain me for awhile, most especially because she was on a higher sedation rate (partly because her BP started to increase a bit which was possibly due to the procedure to place her PEG tube) and yet she still did that. You go my girl.
The ICP drainage bag is still at that higher level above her head apparently...the goal is to get the bag level up to 20 (not the same 20 as the pressure number), and it's been at 15 all day and she's been tolerating it just fine! :) They've been able to discontinue the Mannitol (the medication that has also been working to reduce the ICP pressure), and her PEG tube placement went smoothly so they'll start using it tomorrow morning. So that's that!
Our love and prayers are working everyone!! Let's keep it going!!! Thank you everyone SOO much!! I love you all dearly for loving mom so much!!
