Hearty meal
Hi Friends,
Today was a decent day...I had a lunch date, so I got off my ass and didn't stay in the house all day, which was excellent. I didn't sleep well at all last night for some reason, so was fairly tired all day. Soni picked me up and we headed downtown to the Cheesecake Factory. We both forgot that Saturdays anywhere downtown would be super busy, so we ended up waiting about an hour for a table, but we hadn't seen each other in about a month, so we had a lot of catching up to do anyway! :) We had a nice lunch, and a good chat, and both agreed not to go so long again without getting together.
After lunch, I headed over to spend the afternoon with mom, and we had a great time. She was napping when I arrived, but woke up very readily and ended up getting up and into her wheelchair for the afternoon. We went for a "stroll" in the hall, and ended up going into the computer room and I started showing her some pictures I have online from various weddings I've been to recently. While we were looking at those, one of the other patients that we always talk to in the halls came in, and looked at some of my pictures with us before showing us her photo album. Mom was very gracious and looked at all the pictures while she described who each one was. Then we went and stopped by this patient's room so she could show us what movies she has and she was offering to let us borrow them sometime. She's very sweet. Then mom and I headed back into her room and did some drawing and writing with markers...I think mom had a good time with that, but then she started getting hungry, and kept wanting to know how long until dinner. The trays came around 5pm, and we went into the dining room. I ate my leftovers from lunch while she ate her meal...and boy did she eat! She was actually hungry tonight, so she ate ALL her turkey with gravy, ALL her rice, and about a third of her veggies, a whole container of yogurt, and all her Sprite! Then, I had brought a piece of chocolate peanut butter cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory, and we both had a few bites of that, too. The rest is in the fridge there for another go around tomorrow! :)
After dinner, we went back to mom's room and listened to some music for awhile, but then she started getting tired, so we got her ready and into bed. We hung out for a little while longer talking, and then I left to go home. On the way home, Lilly called and headed over to say a quick hello to mom. :) She was unfortunately a little too tired for a long visit, but we're all hopefully going to have dinner together tomorrow. My plan is to cook food and bring it over for us to eat instead of mom having to eat the hospital food tomorrow. Hopefully I'll follow through...I have a brunch date at 10am with my friend Monica, so I know I won't spend all day on the couch, and there will be more of a chance that I actually cook. I'm going to bed early since I didn't sleep well last night...wish me luck for tonight. Peace to everyone.

If I send a burned CD along, can you put it onto an iPod or something? I'm putting together a little package of stuff.
