High drama
Hi Friends,
This one will be short again...I am writing from Pam's computer...I still don't have internet at my new abode, so writing in the blog at home is impossible. Last night's was written compliments of Suzi, thank goodness. :) Couldn't miss a night! Had to shower at Pam's too, as I don't have hot water yet...moving is so much fun, eh?
The drama, in short, was that around 6am or so (per my best guess), my kitty Mite decided to search out the best hiding spot in the apartment...and boy did she find it. There is a hole in the wall inside the utility closet where the furnace is, on the other side of the wall from the bathroom and the tub...she climbed in and hid inside...when I got up, I couldn't find her anywhere for awhile, then heard her crying and finally figured out where she'd gone. Couldn't see or reach her, and she stayed in there ALL day...tried coaxing her with food, catnip, sweet talk...nothing. Suzi called her handyman friend as she knew I was panicking and he came over and helped us make a larger hole in the floor...it turns out she had somehow gotten down underneath the floor...the only way to reach her was to make a hole...she still wouldn't come out, so we had to wait it out. Finally, around 7pm or so, she approached the hole and I was able to grab her and drag her out...resulting in scratches up and down my arms from the wire mesh in the floor. She and I are no longer speaking. ;) But at least she is safe and sound...will be boarding up those holes, you can be sure.
Meanwhile, didn't want to leave so Pam suggested grilling out on the deck...she picked mom up and then went to the store...we had steaks, corn on the cob, and baked potatoes...so yummy, and we ate out on the back porch. The first barbecue of the summer! :) All's well that ends well, I guess.
Okay, must get home to bed. Did not get much unpacking today due to the kitty drama, and work the next four days (!), so it'll have to wait I suppose. Thanks to everyone who sent their well wishes for Mitey, and as always thanks to all for your continued love and support. Peace.
