Mamma Mia
Hi Friends,
I am getting lazy! Two nights in the past week with no entry...shame on me! If it weren't for being so darn exhausted at the end of my days that I fall asleep on the couch, I'd be better! I think the time may be nearing to only write when I have an update instead of every night, but I'm not sure I'm quite ready to give it up just yet, so I'll keep you posted. Maybe at the year mark? We'll see...
Anyway, yesterday was a busy day...went to the oral surgeon's office for my non-appointment (he told me to just come, which I should have known would turn into a disaster)...ended up waiting for almost two hours to be seen, and then waiting around in the room for awhile too...by the time I got out of there, I was starving and late for lunch! He took another xray and basically said he thought my pain was from my mouth being stretched open so wide when they removed my tooth...he gave me a muscle relaxer and told me to take Motrin around the clock to aid in reduction of inflammation...it has gotten a little better, but is definitely still there. He wants me to follow up in two weeks (which reminds me, I need to call for an appointment), and if it's not better, he'll refer me to an ENT doctor to check my ear out. Oy.
Once I finally got out of there, I picked up Mom and came back to the apartment where Loyce was waiting for us...we went to a late lunch at a Turkish restaurant and then went to see "Mamma Mia" at a movie theatre near my place I'd never been to before. It was very cute, had fun music, and mom really enjoyed it...so did Loyce and I of course, but Mom had a really good time. When the movie got out, we brought Mom back to the palace where she and Loyce said their goodbyes...then Loyce and I headed home so she could pack up and get on the road back to Iowa. It was a very nice, if brief, visit and we had a good time altogether. Once she left, I did a little work around the house and then succumbed to my exhaustion on the couch, as mentioned above.
Today, my fatigue carried over and I had the hardest time getting out of bed, so I didn't until about noon. Then I dragged myself up, made a couple phone calls and wrote a few emails, got ready, went grocery shopping, and then drove up to Suzi's house to return her car I'd been borrowing for the past almost week (SO nice of them to let me). We sat outside by her pool and got some sun, and then I had dinner with her and her family before taking the train back to the city. A good mix of productivity and relaxation today, I think.
Off to bed early now as I work the next two days...I hope it isn't too busy. Thanks for all your continued love and support. Peace.
