Hi Friends,
I'm hoping to keep tonight's entry short because I am really not feeling well and plan to force myself to go to bed extra early so I can nip it in the bud. I don't know if I'm coming down with something or what, but I've been nauseated all day long, and my throat's a bit scratchy...nothing overt, but I just don't feel physically great. I don't doubt the lack of good sleep and stress is beginning to catch up with me, but I plan to take some extra vitamins tonight. :)
Today was another okay day...mom was still less agitated than she had been last week, and was pleased to see Esther this morning once we finally made it downtown during the thick of the marathon! She mostly just wanted to listen to us talk, and so we tried to oblige. But she enjoyed Esther's account of what she's been up to lately, and seemed to really be paying attention. I walked Esther to her car and ended up having a quick lunch at Panera with Natalie and her parents...thanks again Mr. and Mrs. Morelock! When I got back, I just did some more arts and crafts, and made a nice big sparkly "Beverly" sign with some sparkly forget-me-nots (one of my mom's favorite flowers, and actually now that I think about it very symbolic), so that when the speech therapist asks her to say her name, she can cheat and look up at the sign in case she forgets!! I also plan to make signs for the days of the week, and maybe some other names too. But I figured I'd spread the art projects out a little bit.
She was again very happy to have me there and was actually able to express it...what a wonderful balm for my heart. The only reason why she wasn't completely okay today is because she was having pain related to her poor, raw behind, which they're treating with creams but which is still very painful for her. :( PLEASE, I hope she is finally coming out of the agitation stage...PLEASE. I can't tell you how much of a beautiful thing it is to have my sweet mom back, even if she is confused. She was even expressing concern for me today when she asked how I was and I told her I wasn't feeling well. She furrowed her brow and asked what was wrong. That's my mom. Lemme tell ya, it's SOOO much harder to leave her when she actually expresses the fact that she's glad I'm there...although at one point she did tell me I "need to and have a little fun." :) Cutie.

I am a student at Coyne and I am really happy to hear that Ms. Longo is doing well with her recovery. When I heard of what happend to her I couldn't stop thinking about her and praying for her to return to 100% health. I have not always been a praying person but I am extremly happy to hear that she is doing o.k, and that shows that god answers all prayers. Even though I had just met Ms. Longo a short time before this accident, I felt as though, It was a memeber of my own family. Throughout this whole ordeal I kept her in my prayers and I will continued to do so; so that she returns better than ever.
