Home cookin'
Hi Friends,
It's a little later than I thought I was going to get home, so I won't write long because I have to work the next 2 days and I have no doubt I'll be running my butt off, so I need to go to bed. Had a "busy" day today relatively speaking...had a wonderful brunch with Monica and Tim...we'll definitely have to go back to that place (it was called "Orange")! Then I went to Famous Footwear and took advantage of the sale they were having, then went to the grocery store and got the makings for the meal I made to bring tonight. Came home, did the dishes (finally!), and made the meal. Then I headed down to RIC and hung out with mom for a little bit before dinner...when I arrived she was up in her chair, and seemed a little down...I think she just had a boring day since she didn't have any therapies. But she cheered up when I got there, and then Lilly came and we all had dinner together! We had a great time, and then we hung out afterward for quite awhile, laughing and chatting. We even watched the Bears game because it was on in the dining room! Uncle Jack called earlier in the day I guess and they chatted briefly which is great, and then tonight Betty called...the quote of the day is "I'll see you tomorrow, but I'll love you tonight." We heard her say that on the phone to Betty and Lilly commented "Boy, that sounds like a country song or an 80s ballad!" and we were cracking up.
The nurse told me today that mom has been using her nurse call light and/or calling out to someone when she has to get up to the bathroom...how great is that??!! She is so aware now that she is letting someone know and not just letting it go! :) Yay, I'm so proud of her!!
Okay, I'm off to bed. Keep your fingers crossed that tomorrow won't be SO crazy at work. Thanks all for your wonderful comments...it was SO GREAT to come home to them! :)
