Always questions
Hi Friends,
Another day...got some things done I wanted to, and others I didn't get done. At least there were a couple things I could cross off my list. That's always good to be a little productive if not hugely so.
Spent time doing those things the first part of the day, and then went to hang out with mom in the afternoon. Soon after I arrived, the physiatrist who I had met while mom was at IL Masonic (the one who got her into RIC) stopped by her room to check in with her...while I had him there, I picked his brain a bit with the list of questions I'd prepared after the care plan meeting that had gone unanswered (I'm so not one to think on my feet, so of course I thought of so many questions after the fact), and he was as helpful as he could be. I feel a little bit better having spoken to him about her plan, and hopefully he'll stay on the case and follow up with me as he said he would. Natalie came by for a visit, so that was great to have her there...we hung out and had some Garrett's popcorn she brought...a very yummy treat for those of you not from around here who don't know what that is. We also went down and played Bingo (well, mom played), but unfortunately she didn't win again this time. Also had a brief meeting with the social worker again to ask some of my other questions, and though I still don't feel completely confident that I have all the answers, I feel slightly better.
After that, we just hung out in mom's room for the rest of the afternoon...mom watered her poinsettia and her other plant, we broke down and threw away the gingerbread house finally, and picked out an outfit for her to wear tomorrow. We left just before she was served dinner, and I just came home and made dinner for myself...I actually cooked! Shocking, I know. Will go to bed early tonight as I have to work tomorrow and the next day. I think Pam plans to go visit mom tomorrow, which is excellent. :) Thanks for your kind comments and words of encouragement...keep them coming, I could use all the help I can get. Peace.
