Homework
Hi Friends,
I compromised today with the orders to take the weekend for myself...I couldn't go another day without visiting mom...I missed her too much, and plus I work Monday and Tuesday, so it would have been WAY too long without seeing her if I didn't go see her today. But I did make myself a big brunch this morning...eggs, turkey bacon and an English muffin. It was yummy, and I even did the dishes! Took my time getting ready to go, and then headed over to see mom in the afternoon. She was just hanging out when I got there, and we chatted for a bit, and then I helped her with her Speech Therapy homework...she hadn't done it yet, so we had a talk about how she MUST do her work and even though it's hard and she might not want to, this is the way for her to get better and get out of there. She did well, but it was definitely difficult for her and tired her brain out. After we finished that, we just hung out, and walked around. Around 4:15pm or so, Suzi arrived for a short visit...we sat and chatted in the Bistro on the 1st floor, a nice change of scenery from her room.
Suzi and I left right before mom had dinner and went to an evening movie..."27 Dresses." It was cute, and entertaining...a perfect mindless, feel-good movie for a Sunday night before I have to go back to work. When I got home, I chatted on the phone a bit with mom...encouraged her to write in her journal, as that is also part of her therapy and healing, and she did go and write something, and then called me back to let me know she had and to read it to me...she's beginning to write a bit about her feelings about the accident, which is good and I will continue to encourage her to do so. Have just been trying this evening to do a little tidying up of the apartment...it's a disaster, and I'm going crazy but I just haven't been able to motivate myself to do anything about it...not only do I need a personal secretary, but also a housekeeper! Ugh, if only.
Off to bed in a little bit, back to the grindstone tomorrow. Hope you all had a good weekend...thanks as always for your continued love and support. Peace to all.
