Reflection
Hi Friends,
Whew, I almost wasn't able to write in the blog tonight...I was having some internet trouble, and didn't think I'd be able to get it working, but obviously I did! Thank goodness! Not quite sure what was wrong with it, but it's all good now.
Had a pretty good day today...had my appointment this morning, then grabbed some Chinese food to bring and eat with mom for lunch. When I arrived, she was already in the dining room waiting to be served, and she was sitting with three other people! She totally introduced me to them, and knew two out of three of their names! There's Jim, who was the guy who originally kicked her out of his seat and was mean to her, but apparently now they're friends. And there was Hazel and Bruce. So cute! So we all five of us sat at the same table for lunch, and it was pleasant...they didn't do much talking, but were very polite and nice at the beginning and end. I got to meet mom's Speech Therapist there, and she was really nice...her name is Genevieve. They had a session today, and mom really enjoyed it...she told me all about it and how nice the girl was. :)
We just spent the afternoon together hanging out and having a good time...we had a good chat about the family and life, like we sometimes do. Went to another music performance too...a guy with a guitar and a banjo...he played mostly 50s and 60s music. Mom always enjoys that, I know. She is just doing so wonderfully, I'm continually impressed when I talk to her. It's hard to believe it's been just over 4 months since the accident...sometimes it seems like it's been forever, that this is how life has always been, and sometimes it feels like just yesterday. In the grand scheme of things though, it really hasn't been that long at all and she is doing amazingly well for it having been such a short time, and so suddenly. Considering that just less than 5 weeks ago she had brain surgery, and just prior to that and for 2 weeks afterward, she wasn't walking by herself or doing any self-cares, it's incredible how far she's come. I occasionally look back at past blog entries, and though it's really hard to read, it really reinforces how far we've come.
Anyway, must work tomorrow so must start getting ready for bed. Be safe heading into the weekend, everyone. Thanks as always for your continued love, prayers and support. Peace to all.
