Hi Friends,
Whew, what lovely weather we're having, eh? Hung out this morning, and then figured I should get out and visit mom so I could get home early and avoid some of the weather. Mom was down in the rehab room when I arrived, sitting in the chair waiting for the session that never happened...I guess mom misunderstood what was going to be taking place every M, W and F afternoon at 2pm...she thought it was going to be just like the PT sessions she'd had before, where someone came and directed her as to what exercises to do, so she was waiting for that and thought she'd been stood up. After I explained to her that it would be a self-directed activity, and the only reason it's on certain days at a certain time is so that there are others in the room who can supervise her use of the machines to make sure she is safe, she was fine with that and glad I'd enlightened her. :)
We worked some on her homework, and then went down to check her email...she did it much more indendently this time than the time before, and remembered some of the steps without me having to tell her...she did great! For some reason, this seems to really tire her out, so she never writes very many emails...for all those who have sent her emails and have not gotten a response yet, don't despair...she has read your messages and loved them, it just takes a lot of energy out for her to respond and it's a slow process. But she truly does appreciate all your love. :) I work the next two days, so I told her that maybe tomorrow she could go down there on her own and bring her phone with her...she could try doing it by herself, and if she gets stuck or runs into a problem, she can call me and I can try to talk her through it.
I left right before her dinnertime so I could get home before the worst of the winter storm hit...the roads were already very slippery, but I made it without a problem. Made some chili for dinner which I must say is quite good. :) Going to try to get to bed early tonight so I can gear up for two likely very busy days at work. Thanks all for your continued love and support...you are appreciated. Peace to all.
