Laundry
Hi Friends,
Am writing early tonight...I didn't sleep that well last night because I am trying to wean myself off the sleep meds and I decreased the dose for the first time and it didn't exactly go well. So will try to go to bed early tonight if I can sleep and hopefully catch up a little bit since I have to work tomorrow. Can someone please tell me how to shut off my mind at will? That would help.
Today was a good day...Monica picked me up at 11:30am and we went to the Imperial to pick mom up. We decided on "Stella's Diner" for lunch (it has always been a favorite of mom's), and Pam met us there. We parked across the street from the place, and as we were waiting to cross, mom spotted the restaurant and recognized it and got REALLY excited about it!!!! She remembered it!!! We had a good lunch...mom chose without difficulty what she wanted on the menu and ordered it herself. We ate and talked and laughed, and had a wonderful time. After lunch, Pam headed home and the remaining three of us headed back to the car, but mom spotted "The Bagel" (another favorite restaurant) and insisted we go in for a cookie...somehow she remembered the little cookies they sell there, so we got one. :)
Then we headed to the laundromat so mom could do her laundry! We figured it was both useful as a necessary chore and as therapy for mom (real world duties and all), so we made her do it! She read the directions on the machine and did everything herself. While it was washing, we headed over to the Dollar Tree and looked around for some retail therapy...she got some St. Patty's Day decorations to replace the Valentine's Day ones after tomorrow, a little bookmark that says "Hope," and a pad of sticky notes for in case she needs to leave herself reminders. While the laundry was drying, we went over to "Boston Market" for a drink and chatted...well, she did most of the talking...sometimes I think she's making up for lost time! :) She folded the laundry and then we headed back to the Imperial.
I hung out with her for awhile longer...she showed me the exercise machines she's been using, and ended up doing some exercise while we were down there! Then we went in and checked her email briefly and then it was time for her dinner. I got her settled in the Bistro, and then headed home myself.
Wish me luck with the sleep tonight...hopefully it will be better. Maybe someday I'll feel normal again...I need to be reassured I won't always be this stressed. Thanks all for your love and support. Peace.

I am so glad you had such a great day yesterday! It sounds like you had a lot of fun. I hope work is not too bad today. Talk to you soon!
Love, Jillian
Your life will get back to 'normal', just try to remember, you are one person. Don't be so hard on youself. You are doing a remarkable job with your Mother. Also,in the evening try to do some relaxation exercises, maybe some yoga stretches. Think good thoughts, I'm thinking them along with alot of others.
