Aphasia be gone!

Hi Friends,

Long day today, but okay I suppose. Certainly back to the grindstone. Talked to mom a couple times, she seemed to be having a very good day...attended several activities and had a good time with her homework, which was writing sentences. She did great! Her aphasia is worlds better than I ever hoped it would be...she gets better everday with finding the right words, and her speech patterns are amazingly improved...from what I'd read, aphasia is a hard thing to improve, a hard thing to overcome, and some people never do. But wow, I'm so pleased with how she's doing...it's truly amazing. She's so strong and I'm so very proud of her...a lesser woman would not be doing nearly as well as she is...awe-inspiring.

Off tomorrow, so will try to get some more chores and errands done...ugh. Sounds like fun, eh? Will have some cocoa tonight before bed, I think. Thanks for your continued love and support. Peace to all.

Well, it certainly doesn't look like the Spring Equinox here yet, although the little robbins have been keeping the faith for weeks now.
As we approach the end of Bev's
7th month of rehab and look forward to her next phase of recovery beyond institutional support, I'd like once again to thank all who have been following her progress with us. From those first wrenching days in the ICU, Bev's family has been grateful to all those who responded with professional care 'above and beyond,' and to her friends, colleagues and students for their many kindnesses, who continue to share their sentiments, prayers, time and energy dispite demanding lives of their own.
To you, our sincere thanks.
