Busy day
Hi Friends,
It has been a long day...not a bad day, just long. I feel exhausted, like this morning was a really really long time ago, like it was a different day altogether. Worked my extra shift this morning and then headed over to RIC to be on the panel of families of brain injury survivors...met some really nice people, and made some connections that could possibly bode well for mom's future...more on that later. All in all a very good experience though it was a bit nerve-wracking not to have been a bit more prepared. After I left there, I headed home for lunch and to change clothes, then headed first to the rental office and then up to the new apartment with Pam where we took turns mopping the whole apartment...a big job. It was getting late, so then we went over to spend some time with mom...she was so cute...I got a message from her earlier in the day telling me she'd decided not to go on the out trip to the dollar store today because she didn't think it would be that fun. Then I'd called her later on in the afternoon and she told me she couldn't talk right then because she was too busy but would call me later...I was intrigued but didn't push it. When we got there this evening, I asked her what she'd been up to when I'd called her, and she pulled out a bag from the Dollar Tree...it turns out she was on the out trip to the dollar store after all when I'd called her, and she was busy shopping for gifts for me to thank me for taking care of her these last months...I almost cried she was so cute when she gave them to me...she picked out a mug, some cheese crackers, a York peppermint patty, and some sugar free chocolate mint candy. SO cute. AND, her picture is up for the month of May for being the resident of the month!!! It's absolutely adorable, and I'll try to post a pic of the pic here...she's so proud. :)
After the visit, Pam and I grabbed a quick bite to eat for dinner, and then I was supposed to come home and pack some more, but I am so tired I can't bring myself to do anymore. Must work tomorrow too, so won't get much more packing done before Sunday...oh well, I did what I could and I'm not going to get too stressed about it. Anyway, off to bed...happy weekend everyone! Thanks as always, and peace.
