If it's not one thing...
Hi Friends,
Another uneventful blog as I've been on the couch all day again, never far from the bathroom for reasons I won't discuss in detail, as I'm sure you'd all prefer. Have not attempted to ingest anything but Gatorade, Coke and chicken soup with saltines today. Ugh. Emily arrived last night around 11pm and we chatted for awhile before we hit the hay, both exhausted. We had a nice time catching up and chatting, and it was good to see her after so long. Of course the gas man didn't arrive in enough time before she had to leave for her interview this morning, so she headed over to the old apartment to shower. I stayed on the couch sleeping off and on all afternoon.
The gas man finally showed up about 45 minutes past the time they were supposed to, and turned the gas on, but the saga continues...apparently, the hot water heater down in the basement is missing an essential part, so he was not able to turn that on. Now I must wait for the management to send a plumber to take care of this and an electrician to fix the electricity issues, and judging by their track record with this stuff so far, it's anyone's guess how long that will take. I talked to them today, and then didn't hear back from them the rest of the day, so you can be sure they'll be getting a nasty phone call from me tomorrow. And if I'm not satisfied with their turn-around time, I will call an electrician and a plumber myself and bill them for their services. This is getting too ridiculous, and I'm tired of trying to live in a place that is not really livable.
Was unable to visit mom today sadly...I couldn't be too far from the bathroom, and also did not want to pass whatever this bug is on to her...but we talked on the phone quite a bit, and she seemed to keep busy today with activities and reading her book and such. I'm going to have to bring some more books for her...she is really enjoying reading, which I'm absolutely ecstatic about! Will try to go back to work tomorrow...I hope by then I will be less dependent on the loo and more able to eat solids. :) Thanks for all your continued love and support. Peace.
