A brush with Hollywood...

Hi Friends,

The day was packed with chores and fun, a good mix of both. Picked mom up around 11:15am or so, and headed to do some laundry. While it was washing, we had lunch at Boston Market, and while it was drying we got some pretty flowers and herbs from Home Depot for the back deck. When the laundry was done, we headed home and did some stuff around the house...unpacking and such, and potted the flowers and herbs. Ordered in for dinner, and watched "So You Think You Can Dance." On our way back to drop her at the palace, we saw a whole bunch of trailers and such for a movie filming, and found out they were filming Johnny Depp's latest, about John Dillinger and his shooting death in front of the Biograph Theatre...apparently they wanted to film on location, so they were on Lincoln at Fullerton right in front of the old theatre. The whole street was blocked off, and they'd redone all the store fronts to look like they were from that time period, there were old cars along the street, and the middle of the street was resurfaced so that the old underlying trolley tracks were exposed...saw a few actors in costume (none of whom we recognized), which was also cool. Unfortunately, did not spot Johnny, but oh well...another time perhaps. That would have been great though, I love him. How is it that I always happen upon movie sets? Just luck, I guess. :)

Anyway, we had a good day, and now it's time for bed. Must work tomorrow, but Pam is taking mom to get lunch and a pedicure for her belated birthday gift...mom is SO excited, and I know they'll have a good time. Thanks for all your continued love and support. Peace.
