Bev the rascal
Hi Friends,
Today was a great day...mom's appointment this morning went really well, first of all. It was nice to see her doctor from RIC again, and he was definitely pleased and impressed with how far mom has come in her recovery process. He also provided many helpful suggestions, resources, and options for us to plan for mom's future, which was so welcome. All in all, a very successful visit indeed. Once we were finished there, we picked up some lunch and headed to the beach to relax and picnic. The weather was perfect for the occasion, and we met up with Pam and Suzi for a girls day. :) We had fun just talking, hanging out and sunning (though mom was under the umbrella as she doesn't do well in the heat and sun). Mom had a great time feeding the gulls, and listening to Pam's iPod. She was quite the jokester today, for the most part in very good spirits (with the occasional tears, as is her usual), and was just being so funny, hence the title of tonight's blog. Gave her a book to bring back with her this evening written by a brain injury survivor for her to begin reading...just so she knows she's not alone in all of this. Hope it helps and doesn't hinder. We shall see.
Off to bed...I'm sure it'll be another crazy day tomorrow...work called me again this morning at 5:45am to see if I could come in and help out again. Needless to say, I was unavailable today. Wish me luck tomorrow! Thanks for all your continued love and support. Peace.
