Betsters
Hi Friends,
I will try to be brief again, because it's late and Betty and I must go to bed (tonight's title refers to what Pam texted me earlier and I thought it was really funny..."Did Betsters make it in alright?")...she did indeed make it into Chicago just fine! Yay!!! Her flight was delayed about an hour and 15 minutes due to the snowy weather here, but no more than that, and her trip was uneventful. :) We got to RIC around the same time, 8:15pm or so...mom was very happy to see us both! We had a nice visit, chatting and laughing...mom said some pretty funny crazy things, and we had a good time. We talked a lot about the upcoming surgery again, and what happened to cause her to have to have it at all...we haven't really talked about the accident itself much lately, so she needed some reminders, and it was clear she wasn't too keen on thinking very much about it because she would try to change the subject and say she didn't want to talk about it anymore (she wasn't being all serious and sad, just in awe and a little overwhelmed, I guess).
Having Betty here is so great, and makes me think about the last two times she was here and how much progress mom has made since then...I remember lying in the room we stayed in over near Illinois Masonic, and before we fell asleep, we'd visualize healing and loving "bubbles" surrounding mom in her bed in the ICU...at that point, we didn't know if mom would wake up at all....and look at her now! Wow, amazing how much forward progress has gone on since then...I guess those bubbles worked. :)
Okay, off to bed now...as always, more tomorrow. Thanks for your continued love and support. Peace.
