Hi Friends,
Today was another pretty good day, I guess. Took a small bite out of some work this morning, but it's so easy to get so bogged down in the paperwork, I couldn't stand to do it any longer than I did. Spent all afternoon with mom, and once again we had a great time together. I was curious as to how much of our conversation from yesterday and our plans for today she would remember, and so far it has been sticking! She did some writing today, and wrote quite a beautiful piece of writing, kind of a poem, which was extremely impressive...I'll include it another time, I promise. I brought her the blank journal today and explained to her about it, that she could write anything and everything she wanted in there, and she was really excited about it. Also, I brought her published thesis she wrote for grad school, to remind her of what a wonderful writer she once was and could be again, and to inspire her and remind her what she has accomplished. She certainly was inspired, and couldn't wait to read it and "remember."
After we did that, we went down and watched the Sunday afternoon movie, "National Treasure," in the activity room and had some popcorn, and that was fun. Had a nice chat on the phone with Betty and Sofie, too. I left just before she went in for dinner, stopped at the grocery store on the way home (!), and now am relaxing and watching the fake Golden Globes... the "announcements"...I still can't believe they cancelled them! I just talked to mom, she called to say goodnight. :) She's so cute.
Must work tomorrow and Tuesday, so I'll be curious to see if and what she writes in her journal over the next couple of days. She's absolutely coming along...who would have thought four and a half months ago when she lay in a coma, unresponsive, that she'd be writing in a journal. Thank you all for your part in her recovery thus far...you have truly contributed with your love, prayers and positive energy. Peace to you all.

You are so strong and an inspiration. You definitely have to turn this journal into a book at the end of this temporary journey. You've made everyone laugh, cry, and you are an amazing writer! Keep up the amazing work. You are a great daughter.
