Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

Hi Friends,

Mmm, another beatiful day...and we enjoyed it to its fullest. One of those days that it just feels good to be outside, ya know? Got up and hung out and chatted over coffee, Betty headed out on another walk while I got ready and then made a quick trip up to the new apartment to point out all the stuff that still needs to be done/fixed/cleaned, and then we met back up at the Homestead and headed over to get mom. Took the bus to the zoo where Lilly met us and we had a leisurely day walking around looking at all the animals. Mom thoroughly enjoyed herself as I knew she would, and it was more good exercise for her to be walking around so much. :) Had some ice cream while we rested, a yummy treat in the nice weather. Her favorite animal by far seemed to be the seals, for some reason...she just loved them. Unfortunately, we so leisurely walked around the zoo that we didn't make it to the Lincoln Park Conservatory before it closed...but we'll go another day. I just wished Betty could have seen it as I know she would have enjoyed it.

After the zoo, we headed home to eat up the leftovers that have accumulated in the fridge over the weekend...Betty gave mom her compiled journal entries from the first couple of months following the accident in a book she had bound, and mom started reading over it and of course got teary...a very nice gift for her though...I'm sure she'll read it over and over. Then we brought her back to the palace where she gave Betty a tearful goodbye...she'll be okay, but I know she really really enjoyed having her here, as have I. :) Dropped Lilly off at the grocery store, and then headed home where we checked Betty in for her flight online, and she packed up all her stuff. :( It'll be an early morning tomorrow as her flight is an early one, so off to bed now. Thanks for all your continued love and support. Peace.

Amanda,

Glad to hear you are out enjoying the weather. A beautiful day like today sure can brighten your spirits. That is so good for you and Bev right now. I can't believe she will be coming home to you soon. That is so great. Good luck with all the discharge planning. I know it must be overwhelming. Let me know if you need anything at all.

Love,
Julie Mc
